  1. 1. 1 EduDigiPark Activity Analysis Activity Aims Web 2 tools Cultural Elements CLIL elements* First activity: Partners worked in international teams. Every team made a video conference. Students described themselves and talked about their daily routines. After they talked they drew pictures of their new friends. Then created an interactive poster and shared. - Students can communicate in English. They can simply describe themselves and talk about daily routines. (it’s parallel to MEB curriculum.) - Students can use thinglink tool. - Students will make acquaintance with other cultures. - Adobe connect or Facebook messenger - Thinglink - TeamUp - LearningApps It’s a meeting activity. So, we want our students just meet and see other cultures. This activity was planned for Communication. So, students used language. Their mistakes were tolerated. Creativity (drawing pictures) was integrated into the activity. So, students didn’t afraid of making mistakes. They just focused on creativity and communication. Second Activity: Partners worked in international teams. Every partner prepared a tutorial video of their national dance. Then their team mates performed their dances. Also, every partner taught a word about their national dance or costumes to other partners. After the activity a quiz was prepared using those words. - Students can use English to teach a dance. They used imperative sentences to do it. (parallel to MEB curriculum) - Students will learn and practice other cultures’ elements. - Students can use Quizziz tool. - TeamUp - Quizziz Students learned the other countries’ national dances. They taught their own national dances too. So, they learned both their own cultures and other countries’. Thanks to overall quiz they learned all countries dances and national words. This activity is mainly about Culture element of CLIL. Learning about other cultures makes students more tolerated about differences. Thanks to this activity, my students wonder about different cultures more. They discovered about other elements too. Main aim to prepare this kind of activities is to promote international awareness and understanding. What’s more students used English to teach dances. Third Activity: Every student took pictures of his/her breakfast and - Students will learn about other countries’ - Kahoot - Biteable Students learned the other countries’ national breakfast cultures. It’s This activity is mainly about Culture element of CLIL. Cultural
  2. 2. 2 EduDigiPark Activity Analysis share in twinspace. They wrote 3 national breakfast foods too. Also, teachers recorded a video about their breakfast. And we prepared a video collage using those videos. At the end, we prepared a quiz about national foods’ names. breakfast (parallel to MEB Curriculum.) - Students can use Kahoot and Biteable tool. an intangible cultural factor of Europe. We want them to see variety of cultures. And then they gather together these various elements. They saw variety created beauty. competencies mentioned in the second activity is same with this activity. Also, Students used authentic language in this activity instead of memorizing the words in the book. Fourth Activity: Every partner prepared their national houses’ 3d models. Then they shared pictures of them in twinspace. Also, they prepared 3d models of national buildings. Then we prepared international town map using those pictures. And prepared and played online games with them. - Students will learn and practice about give directions on a map. (parallel to MEB curriculum) - Students will learn about other countries national houses and buildings. - Students can use LearningApps, QuickApp Ninja, Jigsaw Planet and Canva. - Canva - LearningApps - QuickApp Ninja - Jigsaw Planet Students learned the other countries’ national houses. They built their own national houses too. So, they again broaden their knowledge about their own cultures and others’. As the Feynman Technique says, teaching others makes learning easier. This activity is mainly about Culture element of CLIL. Cultural competencies mentioned in the second activity is same with this activity. But we wanted to integrate Cognition element into this activity too. Therefore, with puzzles and LearningApps games we want our students to understand the overall content and use this information to solve problems. Thinking skills is aimed to develop. Fifth Activity: Students talked about 3 cities of their country. They explained the weather conditions and how they felt when the weather was like that. They spoke in their native - Students will learn and practice about weather conditions and feelings (parallel to MEB curriculum). - Prezi - Adobe Premiere Pro. - Keamk - Adobe connect or facebook messenger - Students learned the other countries’ cities and weather conditions. We want them to feel they are a part of a union. Also, they heard other languages apart from English. English This activity is combination of 4C’s of CLIL. As the content Prezi tool usage was used. As the communication was both the games (video chat) and translation of

After that, international teams played online games with using the information in the video. - Students will learn about other countries cities and weathers. - Students can use Prezi. used as a cohesive language. It makes them understand all the other languages. explanations were used. Also understanding the other countries’ weather conditions was both a collaborative activity and a language practice. As the Cognition, again weather game (video chat) was used. Students had to gather the information and solve the problem using this information. Finally, as the Culture, students’ explanations of weather conditions was used. Students listen to other countries’ native language and noticed differences and similarities. * for all activities content is technological competencies. The tools mentioned in the aims section is used content which is integrated into language learning.
