MARINE ENGINEER
Ambitious, hardworking, loyal, highly focused and motivated Marine Engineer with a track record of
completing a successful Marine Engineer cadetship working alongside international colleagues on
both car carrier and container ships. Seeking to build on my experience at sea with a marine
engineering career in a company that offers long term employment, growth and development. My
ultimate goal is to achieve my unlimited Class 1 (Chief Engineer) COC and sail as Chief Engineer.
I have my COC and watch keeping certificate at an unlimited motor level for up to a class 3

WORK EXPERIENCE
Clyde Marine Training
sponsored by Zodiac Maritime
Ltd
Engineering Cadet August 2012 - Present
Successful completion of Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) cadetship completing the
required sea time on both a car carrier and container ship with Zodiac Maritime Ltd. I worked
effectively alongside a variety of nationalities including European, African and Asian nationals. I
proved myself as an integral part of the onboard team and excelled in completing tasks such as
identifying faults and performing overhauls on essential equipment. I thrived in the challenging
environment and confirmed that this is the industry where my passion, drive and future belong.
Largs Yacht Haven Marine Engineering March 2014 - June 2014
Regular maintenance and servicing of both propulsion engines and small diesel generators on a
private yacht at Largs Marina. This involved the removal and reinsertion of a leaking starboard
side fuel tank and correct clearances of tappets. This experience provided me with the
opportunity of working in an unfamiliar environment and furthering my knowledge on smaller
engines with different drive systems.
Balfour Beatty Assistant Electrical
Design Engineer
June 2012-August 2012
During the interim between completing my electrical HND and beginning my cadetship I assisted
the design of wiring systems for Ministry of Defence aircraft carriers. This involved use of the
software and design programme AutoCAD to draw cable tray diagrams and proposed cable
dimensions. I was able to put my electrical engineering skills and knowledge into practice and I
also improved both my computing skills and my communication capabilities.
Haylie Hotel & private clients Manual Labourer May 2010-Present
Duties consist of garden landscaping and general maintenance, for example the full restoration
of the Haylie Hotel garden. This consisted of designing and building pathways, rockeries, fences
and staggered brickwork. Through this work I have demonstrated my keen eye for detail and
2. determination to complete tasks punctually and to a high standard.
Pearson's Petrol Station Sales Assistant March 2010 – August 2012
Duties: balancing the tills, locking up, completing log books and general shop maintenance. This
improved my people skills and learned the importance of being a timely, reliable staff member.
