JW Froehlich UK is an independent company set up by Herr Froehlich in 1965 with headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany and
branches in the UK, USA and China. Originally a leak testing equipment supplier to the worldwide automotive industry. The
company now also provides assembly equipment, engine hot and cold test equipment and transmission test stands.
I started my 4 year apprenticeship at JW Froehlich in September 2003. During my apprenticeship I attended Thurrock technical
college on a day release basics achieving my electrical qualification (City & guilds 2360) over the period of 3 years. The forth year
I studied City and guilds 2330, test & inspection, fault finding and fault diagnosis and fault rectification. I also have welding
qualification to BS4872. Manual handling and use of lifting pendent crane, slinging and operations and banks person certificate,
MWEP licences and PASMA scaffolding certified. I served the other four days of the week learning workshop skill, such as
learning machine shop skills and work shop skills, reading mechanical drawing (CAD and Solid works) electrical, pneumatic and
hydraulic drawing and bench building. My training is electrically biased but I am extremely capable of caring out mechanical task.
After my time as an apprentice I started to gain more experience in commissioning and fault finding on machine tool. I have
experience in working on sites (Ford Bridgend engine plant, Ford Koln engine plant, Ford Craiova engine plant and Ford Valencia
engine plant ) installing new and retooling machine tools. At Bridgend I supervised the electrical installation of a complete new
assembly line (Adapter plate machine, Seat & Guide machine, Cam Cap assembly machine and Leak test machines).
Grob machine tool UK LTD 2013 – present
At present I am working as Software service Engineer, Working with Siemens 840D sl, Siemens integrated safety PLC, Siemens
HMI pro CS, Simucom and S120 drives. I am currently working on the Ford Panther Project in Dagenham installing CNC
machines. I am liaising with the customer making sure the machines meet the customer demands and managing their issues as
and when they arise.
