Sikkim Zonal Office is located at Tadong, Gangtok.
•Sikkim Marketing Federation (SIMFED): The Sikkim State Cooperative Supply and
Marketing Federation Ltd. (SIMFED) were established in 1984.
•The Denzong Agriculture Cooperative Society Ltd: It was formed during the year 1965
under Sikkim Cooperative Societies Act, 1955

7. Corporate Involvement in Sikkim Floral Production
•In Assam Lingzey (East Sikkim), orchid nursery has been set up as joint venture
with Netsin Flora Firm and Department of Horticulture, Govt. of Sikkim.
•In Mazitar (East Sikkim), Florance Flora of Bangalore has joint venture with
Department of Horticulture for growing Anthurium.

• Exports - 50,000 to 60,000/day (fresh and dry flowers).
• Sale of flowers in Nagaland itself is very high —

•Three companies involved in the floriculture sector of the state are - Zopar Export Pvt.

•6.0 lakhs Nos. of cut flowers in being sold outside the state through Bangalore
based Ex-porter, viz ZOPAR Export Ltd., during 2007-2008
•The first export consignment of Anthurium cut flowers from Mizoram was
flagged-off on 23 rd August 2006 to UAE and after that to London, Japan and
Australia during 2007 and 2008 through ZOPAr Export Pvt. Lt

28. MARKET INFRASTRUCTURE
• The market infrastructure in the NER is very poor.
• There are no integrated post- harvest management facilities,
collection centres or auction centres.
• In many states there is no retail markets for flowers
• The only active flower markets in the region are Sukreshwar
Ghat (Guwahati) and Ima Market (Imphal).
