Welcome to the Cidade Maravilhosa, or the Marvelous City, as Rio is known
in Brazil. Synonymous with the girl from Ipanema, the dramatic views from
Christ the Redeemer atop Corcovado Mountain, and famous Carnival

Copacabana Beach is in the Copacabana neighborhood, which has more than
150,000 inhabitants — the most densely populated area in Rio de Janeiro.
Copacabana offers a wide range of facilities, services and infrastructure for
locals and visitors alike such as supermarkets, banks, drugstores, nightclubs,
restaurants, cafés, taxis, buses, subway, and above all, a stunning white sand
long beach.

The fireworks display in Rio de Janeiro to celebrate New Year’s Eve is one of
the largest in the world, lasting 15 to 20 minutes. It is estimated that 2 million
people go to Copacabana Beach to see the spectacle.

How to get there!?
A direct flight from, for example, New York, London, or Paris to Rio de
Janeiro takes approximately 10 hours. Copacabana is only 25-30 minutes
away by taxi from the Rio de Janeiro International Airport (GIG).

He watches over the favelas surrounding the city and hears the firework signals
going off nightly. He sees the pickpockets as they start their weekend rounds
along the beach and celebrates Carnival as the parade dances into the early
morning. He is all knowing in this city, and remains a symbol of faith to the
6.2 million cariocas living below.

Christ the Redeemer stands proud at 130 feet tall, on top of Corcovado
Mountain which reaches 2,300 feet over the city. This Jesus means business
and is one of the largest tourist attractions in the city. There is no disputing that
this is one destination that you must add to your itinerary when you visit Rio
de Janeiro during your Brazil travel. Christ the Redeemer is to Rio like the
Eiffel Tower is to Paris, or the Statue of Liberty is to New York. It’s an
instantly recognizable symbol of the city.

How will I get
there?
The most popular and accessible way to get there is the twenty-minute tram
ride that winds through the Tijuca forest and up to summit.
The tram leaves from the station on Rua Cosme Velho every half hour,
between 8:30 AM and 7PM, every day of the week.

To reach the tram station, many use the Integraçao Metro ticket, and take the
metro bus from Largo do Macho Metro Station (between the Flamengo and
Catete stops).

Prices for a taxi ride to the Christ depend on the starting point, but are not too
expensive. For example, a trip from Ipanema takes about fifteen minutes and
should cost around R$20.

If you don’t feel like doing the planning yourself or you want to join in a bigger
group to explore, you can join a tour of Christ the Redeemer from almost all of the
hostels or hotels in the city. This is one of the most popular tours and usually
includes Sugarloaf, Tijuca National Park and visiting various neighborhoods such
as Lapa or Santa Teresa.

SUGAR LOAF MONTAIN
You’ll see stunning views of Rio from a top Sugar Loaf Mountain or “Pão de
Açúcar” which rises at the point where Guanabara Bay meets the Atlantic

The Museu Paulista of the University of São Paulo, also known as
Museu do Ipiranga or simply Paulista Museum, is a museum

Municipal Theater-São Paulo
Municipal Theatre of São Paulo is a theatre in São Paulo, Brazil. It is regarded as one
of the landmarks of the city, significant both for its architectural value as well as for its
historical importance, having been the venue for the Week of Modern Art in 1922, which
revolutionized the arts in Brazil. The building now houses the São Paulo Municipal
Symphonic Orchestra, the Lyric Choir and the City Ballet of São Paulo. The place which
was chosen for the construction was “Morro do Cha”, or Tea Hill, which had been the
site of the new Theater São José. Ramos de Azevedo was the engineer assigned to the
construction. He was also helped by two Italian architects Cláudio Rossi and Domiziano
Rossi. In 1903, construction began, and São Paulo gained one of the best venues in the
world for the presentation of theatre productions, mainly operas. As it was customary in
those days, the majority of the materials was imported from Europe, and the
architectural reference was Theater alla Scala of Milan. The construction lasted about 8
years.

Valley of Anhangabaú- São Paulo

The” Museu de Arte de Sao Paulo Assis Chateaubriand “(better known by the
acronym MASP ) is one of the most important Brazilian cultural institutions . It is
located since November 7, 1968 , at Avenue Paulista , São Paulo , in a building
designed by Italian-Brazilian architect Lina Bo Bardi. Famous for the free - will of over

The Amazon Theatre or Teatro Amazonas in

PAÇO DA LIBERDADE-
MANAUS
It also known as Paço Municipal, but his real
name is Paço da Liberdade. It's construction
began in 1874, and in 1879, the building housed
the Provincial Government and then to the
promulgation of the Republic, began to host the
administrion of Republican Government.
In 1917, the Municipal goverment settles on site.
The face of the "buldings" is one story, divided
into thee sections. Three central part consist of a
portico with two columns and two pilaster in

The Opera House, The Amazonas Theatre was
inaugurated on December 31,1896, and it is
the most important architectonic from the
prosperous rubber period and main artistic
cultural patrimony of the Amazonas state.
It describes as on the outside of the
building, there is the dome covered with
36.000 decorated ceramic tiles painted in the
colors of the national flag. In the shape of a
harp, the central nave can set 640 in the
auditorium, the stage curtain projects the
painting ''Meeting of the Waters'', originally
done in Paris by Crispim do Amaral.

every year, in the first semester of the
year,there is the annual Opera Festival, which

Parque Municipal Américo Renné
Giannetti Belo Horizonte
Opened on September 26,1897 even
before the new state capital, Americo
Renné Giannetti Municipal Park, it is
the oldest environmental heritage of
Belo Horizonte. Designed in the late
nineteenth century by the
construction committee to plan the
new capital of Minas Gerais , the park
is located in hypercenter, more
densely populated area of the city.
Despite having in area intensively
managed, with the majority of existing
species introduced after 111 years of
its implementation, the park now
forms a representative ecosystem
with centenary trees and wide
diversity of species.

The Municipal Park has several springs
that supply the three lakes and nearly 280
species of exotic and native trees, fig trees,
jackfruit, trees, bald cypress, flamboyant,
eucalyptus, sapucaia, mulato, cockand and
stick king.
For leisure, the park offers, for free
use, toys, fitness equipment, walking track,
sports field, rink for skating and tennis.

Its construction was contracted with
the firm of Rudolf Ahsons engineering,

METROPOLITAN CATHEDRAL- Fortaleza
The metropolitam Cathedral of
Fortaleza draws attention for its
grander . This wonderful historic
monument comprises no less than
five thousand faithful and its Gothic
towers reach the impressive height
of 75 meters. Inaugurated in
December 1978 and designed by a
French architect. The Cathedral
took nearly forty years to complete
due to lack of resources. But the
long wait was worth it for having
fortalezenses Cathedral in one of
its biggest tourist attractions. It has
a Gothic Roman style and is the
third largest in Brazil.

The architecture and its fascinating
collection of religious art appeal beyond
the faithful, many tourists. Besides all
these beauties the temple has small
chopels and crupt beautiful stained glass
windows, decorative pieces and na altar
presented by truly Italian city of Verona.
Inspired by the Cathedral of the German
city of Cologne and Chartres, the
Metropolitan Cathedral of Fortaleza is
located very close to the Central Market of
Grofts Fortaleza and also Our lady of
Assumption. Masses are held every day
execpt on mondays and ST. Joseph is the
patron saint of the temple. When you visit
the capital of Ceará, be sure to visit this
beaitiful cathedral, pride of all the
inhabitants of Fortaleza.

Beyond from the football , there are
other reasons to venture out here and
you may be better off finding at the
base in the city a centre or near
Iracema beach then travel by subway
to Paranguaba and take a taxi from
there . You are after a party
atmosphere your best bet would be to
have a drink near the Dragão do mar
cultural center or at a bar near the
city beaches of Iracema..
The weather in Fortaleza is less than four
degrees south of the equator and is almost
outstays for though in June and July, the
tail end of the rainy season temperatures
are based by the strong wind, which draws
surfers ,windsurfes and kith surfers to
nearby , beaches, such as Cumbuco and
future beacher.

PIRANGI DO SUL BEACH- NATAL

JK Juscelino Kubitschek Bridge, also
known as the president JK Bridge or
just the KJ Bridge, is a steel and
concrete Bridge that crosses river
Paranoá in Brasilia.s
Inaugured on December 15, 2002, the
work of JK Bridge over lake Paranoá
impressed by the beauty, majesty and
ingenuity. With 1200 meters, it connects
the Pilot Plan to the south lake. Its
architicture refers to there movement of
a stone bouncing off a mirror d water.
Brasilia, built to be capital of Brazil, has

BOTANICAL GARDEN OF CURITIBA
• Also Known as the "Jardim Botânico
Fanchette Rischbieter" the botanical
Garden of Curitiba is a garden located in
the City of Curitiba, the Capital of the
state of Paraná, and the biggest city in
southern Brazil. It in houses part of the
campus of the Federal University of
Paraná. Opened in 1991, Curitiba's
trademark Botanical Garden was
created in the style of French Gardens.
• Once at the portal of entry, extensive
gardens in the French style in the midst

greenhouse of 458 square meters which
