The Catedral de São Sebastião do Rio de Janeiro, also known as Catedral Metropolitana do Rio de Janeiro, is a Catholic cathedral located in Rio de Janeiro downtown area, in Brazil.
  3. 3. It’s not really a dish, but it’s a typical snack. Goes to carioca beach and never have eaten a Globo with Mate (tea) is not known the ‘carioca’ in essence. You can find this all around the country, but in Rio it has a special flavour. This is a dish that you can find all around the globe, but only in Rio it’s an obligation to eat once a week!
  4. 4. Who order packed lunch knows that has Picadinho every week. The sequence of the packed lunch during the week is this: Filé (Steak), Filé Acebolado (Steak with Onions), Picadinho, Estrogonofe. This dish was truly created in Rio de Janeiro, named on diplomat and politician Oswaldo Aranha (1894- 1960), was invented at the Restaurante Cosmopolita, in Lapa. Mineiro but necessary on the carioca’s table.
  5. 5. For me, only in Christmas! It consists in fried bread soaked in milk and eggs sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon. It can be originally Portuguese, but there are several places here in Rio de Janeiro that serve this dish. It’s only start the cold weather for everybody look for this warm soup. Are you without idea or time to cook the Sunday lunch? It’s only order the frango assado da padaria, usually a delight to clog the arteries.
  6. 6. End of the night, getting out of the work, when hunger presses and the money is short ‘o podrão’ is the salvation. The carioca hot dog, takes corn, pea, potato chip, grated cheese, egg, olive, raisins, and whatever your imagination goes.
  7. 7. The places were this sport is practiced are highly contested in Rio’s sands and, besides the mere mortals, you can find many athletes and artists in the matches. The advantage of this sport is be intimate, run allows you to have time with yourself to think, reflect, practically meditate. Another option is enjoy your playlist, relaxing and exercising the body under the beautiful carioca view. Those who thinks intimist sports sucks, beach soccer is one of the preferred options in Rio. Team work and lot of fun to enjoy Rio’s summer.
  8. 8. Alternative to pratice sport, relax and enjoy Rio’s view. The bike paths are very popular, specially Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas line and Leme to Barra da Tijuca line. This sport works many body muscles and have a high calorie loss. Genuinely Brazilian, this sport uses Beach volleyball as base, but is played without hands. Or would be the basis of soccer played above the volleyball net? If someone realizes, tell us, please! Several celebrities and athletes can be found practicing this sport in Rio’s beaches.. The surfers flock gather in sea with big waves. So, it’s not in any beach that you can pratice this sport. The preferred places are Arpoador and Prainha.
  9. 9. Separate your board and your swimfin, let’s practice bodyboard! There is a school in Posto 5, in Copacabana, that teaches you this sport. The classes take place every Saturday morning, you must just schedule! Did you know that this sport emerged here in Brazil? For those who believe that it is just a beachy game, is wrong, and the Associação Brasileira de Frescobol (Brazilian Frescobol Association) exist to confirm that it is, indeed, a sport. This sport works coordination and concentratios. You must take care to not bother the other beach visitors. This sport requires coordination, concentration and balance. Fashion is walking on the elastic. Beginners fall easily, but with pratice anyone can stay on line for longer.
