However the rest of the chart is made up of mainly action films such as ‘The Green Hornet’ at number two and ‘The Fighter’ at number seven. A trend that could be made from the charts this week is due to the run up of Valentines Day. How can you ensure a good return?<br />Depending on the time of year horror can make a boom at the box office. Typically, horror movies are more popular closer to Halloween, so around October/November. Some of the more popular horror films such as ‘The Exorcist’, ‘ Jaws’ and ‘Hannibal’ are making over $200 million since their releases worldwide. Horror is not the most popular genre because of its intention to scare. Some people don’t feel comfortable with the genre of horror, therefore its takings at the box office may not be as high as say action which has the potential to appeal to a much wider demographic.
