From Europe to the Arabic world, women were not treated as equal to
men.
THEY did not have businesses, own property or inherit money.
Forced marriage was common

the Prophet (saw) would stand up, and give his seat to her.

The Prophet (saw), and his businesswoman wife, Khadija (ra), stood
against many of these unjust practices, advocating for men to treat
women and girls with the utmost respect.
At the time of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), there were many women
who used to work in the market to earn money for their living.
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) not only encouraged them for their job
but also taught them the right Islamic rules of business and
commerce.

equal access to education, teaching us
that, “The pursuit of knowledge is a
duty of every Muslim, man and
woman.” [Ibn Maja]

Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri reports that some women
said to the Holy Prophet (blessings and peace be
upon him): ‘men have gone ahead of us (in terms
of acquisition of knowledge). Therefore, appoint a
special day for our benefit as well.’ The Holy
Prophet fixed one day for them.
Almighty. [Narrated by al-Bukhari in al-Sahih, 1:50.]
