Wudhoo (ablution) provides both physical and spiritual benefits according to Islamic teachings and science. Biologically, washing the ears, nose, face, arms and legs during ablution removes bacteria and generates static electricity that refreshes the body. Spiritually, ablution cleanses a person before praying and reciting the Quran. Proper oral hygiene is also emphasized, as cleaning the mouth during ablution and using a miswak (toothstick) reduces plaque and bacteria that can cause dental issues. Miswak has additionally been shown to have anti-addiction effects on smokers and boost immunity.

Ablution Refreshes Your Body
The Prophet (PBUH) recommended ablution before going to
bed. Yoga experts also encourage washing of hands, arms, eyes,
legs, mouth and genitals before sleep with cool water for a

There isn't a fixed number of times you should do Wudu. You
need to have Wudu when you pray (Salah) and recite the
Qur'an. It is recommended to do Wudu each time you pray so it
is fresh, but you don't have to. As long as the Wudu has not
been nullified, it's fine.
