Letter of Recommendation for Aman Jamwal
To Whom It May Concern
I am writing to you in support of Aman Jamwal’s application. I have known him since
October 2011. In my role as academic advisor we have had meetings each term. I also
taught him in “Contemporary Economic Issues”, which consisted of lectures, classes and
three sessions of individual tutoring.
Aman’s academic performance has been very good. In his first year Aman somewhat
struggled to properly present arguments and evidence, but this has improved
significantly. He takes advice and feedback serious and improves on them. In fact, he is a
quick learner. In our discussions he always demonstrated a good understanding of the
contents and arguments.
Aman is now in the third year of his BSc Economics. I am pleased to report that he
obtained an average mark of 64% in year 2. In the first term of his third final year, he
obtained an average mark of 62%. This puts him among the top 30% of the students. I am
positive that Aman will finish his degree with a 2:1 classification.
Aman performed best in courses that require quantitative and analytical skills. He
received top grades in statistics in particular. I want to emphasise this, because I see a
good command of maths and statistics as a strong indication of analytical skills. He is
very good at courseworks.
Aman is ambitious and works very hard towards his goals, as demonstrated by his
impressive extracurricular activities. I am certain his strong determination will let him
succeed.
