To Whom It May Concern
I am Lecturer in Cognitive Psychology and have been both a lecturer and tutorial
teacher for Jananan Nandakumar, who is enrolled in the highly competitive BSc Biology
with Psychology programme in the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences at
Queen Mary University of London. I am pleased to write a letter of reference for
Jananan’s application to dental school.
Jananan makes a good first impression. He is an earnest, curious and friendly
student in a very rigourous degree programme. An example of how Jananan can go
beyond expectations and astonish a cynical lecturer must be shared with you. I mark
the essay exams blindly, and I was astonished to see that he had providedincredibly
well-written and astute answers that demonstrated a solid understanding ofthe topics.
Similarly, in this past semester of his third year he gave a presentation to thetutorial
group and the other students’ jaws literally dropped open. His talk was interesting,
informative, engaging, and one of the best for that semester. He is clearlyclever and
knows how to apply himself when given the opportunity.
Jananan has indicated that he has had a great interest, indeed a long-term
passion, in becoming a dentist. The fact he has resolutely kept this goal through these
past three years is highly admirable and attests to his character. I recommend him for
admission to pursue dentistry. If I can be of further assistance please do not hesitate to
contact me.
Sincerely yours,
!
