OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course, students should be
   able to:
1. Define terms and discuss concepts of fungi in
   classification, reproduction, cell wall, vegetative
   growth, dimorphism of microbiology.
2. Relate fungi with plants, animals, humans and
   other organisms mutualistic and parasitic
   relationships.
3. Apply fungi in food industries, waste treatment,
   energy production, crop improvement and
   medicine.
4. Prepare specimens, use microscope to examine,
identify and differentiate the different fungi.
5. Design basic problem solving procedures for the
enumeration of bioburden and microbial load from
   microbiological samples.
