My film synopsis

1. MITCH TAYLOR is a 28 year old IT technician who has very little family left in his life. He goes for a jog
every morning. One morning while he was achieving his daily jog through the woods, he comes
across a body with numbers carved into the chest.
After this discovery, he contacts DETECTIVE SMITH, a 25 year old man who is lonely and focused on
his job, and DETECTIVE DAVIS, a 26 year old man who has a wife and two children. Smith and Davis
arrive at the scene and look for any form of identity. In the jean pocket they find a student card that
identifies the body as ANNA FINN, a 20 year old university student. Davis takes note of the numbers
for research.
At the station, Davis is doing research on the numbers while Smith is going through paper work on
the case. Smith suggests to Davis that the numbers could mean nothing at all. Davis isn’t convinced,
so he looks up Anna’s previous home address and decides to pay the house a visit.
Upon arriving, Smith and Davis meet KATHY FINN, Anna’s 45 year old widowed mother. She invites
them inside and offers them a drink, which they decline. Davis sadly reveals the news about her
daughter and Kathy breaks down and starts throwing things. Smith eventually gets her to calm down
as Davis cuts to the chase and asks her about the numbers. Kathy ignores Davis and demands that
they leave. Smith and Davis respect her by immediately leaving.
The next day, Davis is checking through Anna’s file while Smith is on his coffee break. Without Davis
knowing, Smith sneaks out of the station and returns back to the woods where Anna was found
dead. Shortly after getting there, he hears footsteps approaching him so he hides behind a tree. He
sees Mitch Taylor, the man who discovered Anna’s body, come jogging past. Smith emerges from
behind the tree and stops Mitch in his tracks. Mitch is surprised to see him and asks him why he’s
there. Smith ignores his question and asks Mitch how he’s been feeling after finding Anna. Mitch
states that he’s been slightly shaken by it but is well. While looking at him, Smith sees that Mitch
looks weary and uncomfortable around him. Smith asks why he’s acting shifty and Mitch tells Smith
that he knows what he did. Mitch threatens to Smith that he’ll tell Davis what he knows and quickly
turns to leave. Smith pushes Mitch to the floor and reaches into his pocket.
Meanwhile at the station, Davis is looking for Smith after not seeing him for a while. A few minutes
later, Smith walks through the door out of breath and red in the face. Davis questions Smith about
where he was but he refuses to answer. They’re suddenly cut short by a colleague urgently
requesting them to return to the woods to investigate another killing. They go to the given location
and find the body of Mitch with the same numbers found on Anna’s body, carved into his chest. 33
year old SHANE MILLS, who discovered the body, tells Davis everything that happened.
Afterwards, Davis and Smith return to the station, to find that they’re the only ones there. Davis
suggests that they urgently find out the importance of the numbers and begins to research them.
Smith quickly rejects this idea and Davis turns towards him looking slightly suspicious due to his
quick answer. Smith demands Davis to turn the computer off but before he can do anything, Davis
looks up from the computer with fright and realisation at Smith. Davis accuses Smith and he admits
it. Before Smith begins to explain, Davis tries to get to the door but Smith blocks the way. Smith
turns off the lights as he retrieves a small pocket knife from his pocket.
