Project Update:

• In Defects until January 2017
Project Brief:
In 2015 Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust stated its intentions that the
provision of a clinical room ready for a future conversion to Fluoroscopy Room and Patient
Recovery Room was needed.
The benefits to Patients arising from the scheme proposals are:
• Provide an alternative area to undertake non fluoroscopic interventions e.g. Ultrasound
scans and ultrasound guided biopsies.
• Allow better use of the interventional room through receiving/recovering/monitoring
patients outside of the room. Datix’s are on the system indicating room blockage due to
waiting for hand over or bad availability.
• Provide a dedicated area for the recovery of patients within Imaging.
Construction works to create adequate clinical areas for effective delivery of services include
as follows:
• Alteration of partition walls to
reconfigure the layout of the area.
• Mechanical ventilation with hygienic
air grilles
• Hot and cold water services for
clinical sink and stainless steel scrub
up trough
• New fire smoke detectors
• New antiglare dimmable lights
panels in LED
• New heating and cooling at X-Ray
department with Daikin VRV IV Heat
Pump with Variable Refrigerant
Temperature (VRT)
• Presence Detectors (PIR sensors)
designed to switch off lights if an
area is unoccupied
• New wireless nurse call system
• New hygienic Glass Reinforced
Polyester (GRP) doors
