EMPLOYMENT HISTORY AND KEY ACHIEVEMENTS
October 1, 2014-present, Area Program Supervisor and April 1, 2012 –September 30, 2014, Area Development
Program (ADP) Manager, World Vision Ethiopia (WVE), Omonada Area Program (AP), Jimma Zone, Oromia
Major Responsibilities: Ensure effective and efficient program execution, review, update and submit plans and
reports to partners including major donors, network with and improve relations with partners and stakeholders,
manage sponsorship program to the desired level of standard, promote learning, develop the capacity of program
staff for effective and efficient project and program implementation, ensure stewardship in resource utilization and
financial accountability and promote local resource contribution and funding diversification.
Achievements:
I produced a 5 year design document (FY17-FY21) for Omonada AP and submitted to donor
My programme won a prize in 2015 in execution at national level in WVE from 63 programs working
in more than 63 districts and 13 program offices in Ethiopia
I have led 14 to 18 program staff, 16 community development workers and 166 volunteers in Omonada
AP since April 1, 2012 where annual budget is USD 1 to 1.6 million.
I managed 5 year (FY11-FY15) huge grant project (Rehoboth WaSH) with a total budget of more than
2.6 million in addition to the regular sponsorship fund
I have managed implementation, issues, time and resources of projects
I have carried out regular monitoring with my team and partners and produced bi-annual and annual
monitoring reports in addition to the regular monthly, quarterly, bi-annual and annual reports
I hosted combined baseline and evaluation in FY16 and produced the report
I have been building the capacity of specialists and community partners in project management
(assessment, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation and phase-out of projects)
I have built strong relationship with partners and stakeholders including project beneficiaries,

Because of the program that I led, thousands of community members have access to safe water
supply, children go to school, eat food, participate in issues that affect their life and their life
become full and fulfilled.

learning of programs in World Vision; prepare and review project proposals for donors; writing monthly, quarterly,
bi-annual and annual reports of Hawassa Program Office and ADPs under it; making field visit and producing field
visit reports for improvement and providing technical support to ADPs in the areas of assessment, design,
monitoring and evaluation.
Achievements:
I engaged in the design and redesign of ADPs under Hawassa Program Office namely Abaya,
Western Abaya, Shone and Shenkolla.
I involved in the monitoring and evaluation of Soddo and Humbo ADPs.
I engaged in the reflection (learning) of Shenkolla and Gewata ADPs and produced their report.
I involved in the data collection, analysis and assessment report write up of Abaya, Shashemene
and Gorro ADPs. I fully produced the assessment report and design TOR for Gorro ADP.
3. I engaged in the Transformational Development Indicators (TDI) measurement of ADPs such as
Chencha, Shashemene and Abaya. I produced the TDI report of Abaya. I also led the data collection
process, edited and analysed the data and produced the TDI report.
I prepared two concept papers on education which won fund from donors.
I led the capacity building for data collection for baseline survey of ADPs namely Abaya, Gewata
and Shashemene.

Major Responsibilities: Collection and analysis of data on Ethiopian livestock products and undertaking market
research on Ethiopian livestock products and searching local and foreign markets for the products and conducting
research on direction of trade for Ethiopian livestock producers especially on looking for new markets and
expansion of markets
Major Achievements:
I collected and analysed data and produced one research paper on “Zibad marketing in Ethiopia”
I participated in the search for new markets for Ethiopian livestock products especially in the Middle East
and North Africa and participated on meetings and forums with livestock product exporters.

Major Responsibilities: Participating in the preparation of annual plans of zones of Oromia Region, compilation of
reports of zones of the region and field visits, monitoring and evaluation of the activities accomplished in the zones
of the region
Achievements:
I prepared three proposals for training on population and development and carried out the training in two
zones of Oromia Regional State namely East Hararghe and Boreza Zone. I prepared reports on the training
and submitted to the bureau.
4. I made field visits to Arsi and Bale Zones and prepared field visit reports.
I participated in the review and compilation of Zonal plans and reports.
KEY SKILLS
1. Program/Project Management: I have managed both small (with annual budget of USD 150,000 to
500,000) and large programs (with annual budget of USD 1.6 million) at managerial level for 7 years and
11 months. Currently, I am managing 6 integrated projects with annual budget of more than USD 1 million.
I worked in an international humanitarian organization for 12 years and 8 months. I am personally
disciplined and can work in stressful situations by managing myself and team members.
2. Design, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning: I worked as design, monitoring and evaluation (DME)
officer for 2 and half years. I engaged in the re/design, monitoring and evaluation of several grant and
sponsorship funded projects. In addition, I have been practicing and leading the DME activities such as
reporting, monitoring, learning and evaluation even as a manager.
3. Research Knowledge and Capacity Building: I gained essential research skills like data collection, analysis
and report writing in my stay in WVE for the last 12 years and 8 months. I have been using softwares like
SPSS and Stata for data entry and analysis. Last year, I have carried out research on Saving Behaviour of
Rural Households in Ethiopia: The case of Wonchi District.
4. Teamwork and interpersonal skills: As a manager/supervisor/coordinator, I well understand that we human
beings function well as a team and make effort to create such a strong team. I have led multi-disciplinary
team for data collection, assessment, re/design, project/program planning, implementation, monitoring and
evaluation and developed the capacity to create effective team. I have worked in cooperation with those that
report to me and my supervisor to achieve the intended objectives of the program primarily improve the
lives of families and children especially the most vulnerable.
5. Coordination and Partnership Development: I have been coordinating an array of stakeholders and
partners including project staff members, project beneficiaries, government offices and community-based
organizations for the success of projects and programs.
6. Computer and software application knowledge: I am skilled in computer usage especially in Microsoft
word, excel and power point and in the utilization of systems like SPSS and STATA for research. I
frequently use internet to get recent and important information on development projects, research and
personal development. I have been using Lotus Notes since 2006.
7. Language: proficient in Oromo language, Amharic and English
8. Cultural exposure: I worked in Wolayita, Sidama (Hawasa Town) and Kefa zones in Southern Nations,
Nationalities and Peoples Region as a development practitioner and program manager with the community
at grass root level, government offices and community based organizations. I also worked in East Shewa,
Jimma and Guji Zones of Oromia region and in Addis Ababa and learnt the cultural diversities of various
ethnic groups. Moreover, I have collected data and undertaken other assignments in Hadiya, Kembata,
Gamo Gofa, East and West Hararghe, Borena and Bale zones and learnt how to easily associate with people
from different culture, language, ethnicity, religion and background.

INTEREST
Voluntarism: I gave tutorial on mathematics to grade 12 students when I was first year and second year university
