3. INTRODUCTION
A sensor is a physical system that responds to a
type of stimulus by creating a useful response. A
sensor contains a special material that gives a
particular response to a particular stimulus .
4. ACTIVITY 1 : EVADING MOTION DETECTION
Firstly we noticed that the sensor’s range is 3
meter and its cone shape .
We also noticed that it detect living things only
not objects and also detect infrared waves.
The sensor will not detect you if you walk
slowly .
5. ACTIVITY 2: TAKING A TOUR OF SOME SENSORS
Let’s take an example of sensor .

6. ACTIVITY 3: MAKING MICROPHONE
We connected the PVDF to an amplifier with two kinds
of PVDF Rigid and Flexible .
The Flexible PVDF was more sensitive .

10. INTRODUCTION
Nowadays many football teams are losing matches
because of some mistakes from the referees .
So in 2014 world cup , Brazil made a new technology
called (goal line) to help the referee to know if the ball
entered the goal or not , but still there are some teams
losing important matches because of the offside mistakes ,
so we were thinking to solve this problem by using smart
sensors .
This will help the referees to know if its offside or not .
OFFSIDE DETECTOR
11. A player is in an offside position if:
He is nearer to his opponents' goal line than both the ball and the second last
opponent .
A player is not in an offside position if:
He is in his own half of the field of play .
He is level with the second last opponent .
He is level with the last two opponents .
Committing an Offside Offence
A player in an offside position is only penalized if, at the moment the ball
touches or is played by one of his team, he is, in the opinion of the referee,
involved in active play by:
Interfering with play .
Interfering with an opponent .
Gaining an advantage by being in that position .
Offside rule in football :
12. HYPOTHESIS
Is this device able to help the referees in their
job ?
We can decrease from the referees mistakes ?
This device will help Qatar in the world cup
organization?
13. Our project idea is using the ultrasonic sensor that will
be moving the device until it catch the last player .
And using the color sensor to display the last player’s
color on the device’s screen so by this way the referee
will know who is the last player and decide if its offside
or not .

15. RESULTS
Qatar want to organize a successful world cup
in
2022 , and this technology will help Qatar to
organize successful world cup .
Last few years referees may darkens some
teams
because it’s too hard to calculate the right
decision but with using this technology it will
be easier .
16. RECOMMENDATIONS:
We hope that our project will be useful to our country .
And be used in 2022 Qatar world cup so it can be a
successful world cup .
Also we hope that it will help the referees in their
decisions .
17. CONCLUSION
Finally , we learned many things through Al-Bairaq workshops
that helped us and will help us in our future .
We also learned how to work with our hands and work on
our own projects .
18. ACKNOWLEDGMENT
Many thanks to AL-Bairaq team from Center for
Advanced Materials (CAM), Qatar University for
supporting us during our journey with a AL-Bairaq.
Also, I would like to thank the sponsors UNESCO,
Qatar National Commission, Ras Gas, Maersk and
Shell.
