This document outlines a study on the growth and yield of different wheat varieties under late sowing conditions. The objectives are to analyze the growth, yield attributes, and economics of 8 wheat varieties. The varieties will be tested in a randomized block design with 3 replications and 24 total plots. Growth parameters like plant height, tillers, leaf number, and biomass will be recorded at various intervals. Yield attributes such as spikes, grains, and test weight will also be measured to determine grain yield. Finally, the cost, return, and profitability will be calculated for each treatment.

3. • Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) belong to family Poaceae is one of the most important
cereal crop of the world that has been considered as integral component of food
security system of several nations of the world.
• In India, wheat occupies second place after rice. It is cultivated on an area of 29.85
million ha with the production of 107.70 million tones having productivity of 3.60
tones ha-1(Anonymous, 2020). As per Indian Council of Agricultural Research, the
demand for wheat in the country will reach 140 million tones by 2050.
• Most of this demand in production will have to manage by increasing productivity
as the land area under wheat is not expected to expand. Efficient input management
along with varietal improvement are the two basic element that can help in
achieving the target.
INTRODUCTION

•To work out the economics of each
treatment combination.
•To find out the suitable variety of wheat
for higher yield under late sown
condition.
