2. SIMPLE PAST TENSE
The Simple Past is a verb tense
that is used to describe actions
that have happened in a
previous time and have already
ended, for example:
She cleaned her house.
Ella limpió su casa.
I broke the Window.
Yo rompí la ventana
2
She spoke yestarday He walked to his office
3. auxiliary
The auxiliary of the Simple Past is "DID", this is
used in both the interrogative and negative form.
In denials, the contracted form of "DID NOT" or
"DIDN'T" can be used.

7. When expressing a sentence in Simple Past it is
understood that the action is not related to the
present, as we see in the following cases: He lost the
keys. He lost the keys. (You may have found them in
the present.) She lent me a book. She lent me a
book. (It may have already been returned to you.)

8. It is also possible to indicate the
time when the action takes place
to indicate the time more
accurately :
They saw the movie last night.
Ellos vieron la película anoche.
We went to London yesterday.
Nosotros fuimos a Londres ayer..

9. In order to form a
sentence in the past
tense we must
distinguish two types
of verbs: REGULAR
VERBS and
IRREGULAR VERBS.
In the first case its
Simple Past is formed
by adding the ED
ending to the infinitive,
while the irregular ones
receive that name for
not following a certain
pattern and in this case
they must be studied
individually.
