This document provides an introduction to the course "Ecological Architecture and Urbanism" taught at WKU, CET, Department of Architecture. The course will cover topics related to urban design and planning, ecological architecture, landscape architecture, environmental planning, urban ecology, biodiversity, and the relationships between these topics. It will also discuss sustainable development, human impacts on the environment, and how to increase protection of natural ecosystems and biodiversity. Students will complete an individual assignment in parallel with their main integrated project design work applying the principles of ecological architecture and urbanism.
