Rimetea is a commune located in Alba County, Romania composed of two villages, Col e ti and Rimetea. It was formerly a mining town but is now known as the location of the Piatra Secuiului mountain and as a cultural center for the Székely people. The village was first mentioned in 1257 and belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary before becoming part of Romania in 1920. According to the 2011 census, the population is mostly Hungarian, while the 2002 census found most residents followed the Unitarian religion.
