2. Robert Capa
Robert Capa was a Hungarian war photographer, born on October 22, 1913 – May 25
1954. He covered 5 wars:
• The Spanish Civil War
• The Second Sino-Japanese War
• World War II (Across Europe)
• The 1948 Arab-Israeli War
• The Indochina War
His photos involved different scenes of different wars and the surroundings and also
consisted the events during it. Some of Capas photography are varied from being
staged bravado and some are genuine war scenes. Capa specialized with was
photography and the effects it had on people. War photography changed after Capa
finished with his war project, monitoring the image taken from war, this don’t let
anymore photographers to stay in front line action. The way Robert took photos
changed the way people perceived how war changed the people who where fighting in
war.
3. Don McCullin
Donald McCullin is a British photojournalist , he is particularly recognized for his war
photography. He was born on 9th October 1935 and is currently 80 years old. He began
photography in 1959 and has specialized in investigating the underside of society and
his his photographs have characterized the unemployed, downtrodden and the
impoverished.
He took the first photo of a man suffering with stress in war. His photos identified those
who were struggling in war with brutal photographs and those who were lucky enough
not to suffer as much. The photos he had taken showed people the effects war has on
people who are fighting for their country and the people who don’t, it also shows health
and mental issues it has on people.
4. Neil Leifer
Neil Leifer was born on 28th December 1942 and is a American Photographer and
filmmaker known mainly for his work in the Time Magazine. His career started as a
young boy in New York, taking photos of the New York Giants. Leifer caught several
images of the final touchdown in the game between the Giants and Baltimore Colts
which he then sold to Sports illustrated. Sports illustrated likes Leifers work and he
quickly became a boy wonder at the magazine. This was all on his 16th birthday and
he has his first cover shot at the age on 19.
His shot of Ali defeating Williams has been seen by millions of people around the world
and was voted the greatest sports photo ever by ‘The Observer’. The photo shows Ali
over Williams and it shows that he won the fight and he he feels over the victory. You
can see by the facial expression that it means a lot that he won.
