Where in the world will your students collaborate this school year?
Programs
The Global Virtual Classroom [GVC] K-12 web design contest registration
ends September 30. Many teachers are already communicating within our
Teachers Lounge Wiki . Teams will be formed between October 1-3.
The GVC International Clubhouse has no registration deadline. Teachers in
the Clubhouse are currently working in our Wiki projects on Peace, Great
Thinkers, and information about their Region.
Why participate?
School should be preparing students for their future beyond school.
Whatever they do will likely involve collaborating with others, often with
others not in the same physical location. Often these collaborations will
involve other countries and cultures.
The contest asks classes of students to
work together; to agree and disagree
politely; to give and take; to appreciate the
talents of the other students while trying to
contribute to the success of their project.
Learning to communicate cross culturally in
a school setting is a very good thing.
Countries
So far this year participants are from the
Czech Republic, Kenya, India, Philippines,
Indonesia, Hungary, Nigeria, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, Croatia, Canada,
Lithuania, Cote D' Ivorie, Puerto Rico, Botswana, UK, USA.
Wouldn' t you and your students like to collaborate beyond your classroom
walls?
Sponsorship
We are sponsored by Give Something Back International Foundation and
working under a grant from the AT&T Foundation. Tech4Learning has also
2. provided contest software prizes for merit award winners.
