2. ABOUT NEOLITHIC PERIOD
After the term“Stone Age” was coined in the
late 19th century CE, scholars proposed to
divide the Stone Age into different periods:
Palaeolithic, Mesolithic, and Neolithic. The
term Neolithic refers to the last stage of the
Stone Age. The period is significant for its
megalithic architecture, spread of
agricultural practices, and use of polished
stone tools.

Neolithic revolution???
It could have been because of a population increase that forced
the people to stop hunting and gathering because the fruits of
their labor were only sufficient for a short amount of time.
They needed a sure-fire way to insure that they had a steady
food supply for all of their people. Thus, they planted the
seeds they were gathering and cultivated some of the most
basic types of plants such as wheat and barley.

The massive changes in the way people lived also changed
the types of art they made.
Neolithic sculpture became bigger, in part, because people
didn’t have to carry it
around anymore; pottery became more widespread and was
usedto store foodharvested
fromfarms. This is when alcohol was inventedand when
architecture, and its interior
and exterior decoration, first appears. In short, peoplesettle
down and begin to live in
one place, year after year.
