Name: Download
Cover: big, bold and bright mixture of images to represent genres.
Double page spread: new rising artists
Mixture of genre to appeal to all audiences
Price: possibly £3-£4 but less so it’s cheaper for audience
Feedback: I am Awesome from the feedback of the questionnaire I found that the genre is mostly
tied with and equal score all round, so I said to my feedback group that I will chose a music type that
is my forte like pop or I could create a magazine that has elements of all music which will attract a
much larger market as well as letting the audience discovering something new, the group thought it
would be a challenge but it would be a unique magazine. I said I would make it big, bold and bright
with a simple clear design like NME which my audience answered to read most, my group said to use
a variety of different colours which I will take into consideration. My group will be doing a similar
thing by using articles about backstage coverage, coverage of festivals and interviews etc. I also
thought about using articles about Film/TV etc. which got mixed comments on my questionnaire and
the feedback group thought to focus on the music which I thought was valuable advice. I said that
the price would be between £3-£4 which my group found expensive unless it was a monthly issue,
which I thought was a good idea but I will still lower the price a bit so it is economically better for
audience and creates customer loyalty. I would have a double page spread that contained new rising
stars etc. I will also use interactive features like competitions and let the audience rate the songs etc.
which will be entertaining and lets them get involved which my group thought was a clever idea.
Finally I said that the title of my music magazine will be ‘Download’ as lately demographics are
downloading music instead of buying it, and it also hints at the target demographic being the
younger generation as they are more technical savvy. The group gave me positive feedback and
good advice on how to improve and make a greater effect for my music magazine.
