Marxism is a socioeconomic analysis method developed by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels that analyzes class relations and societal conflicts. It gained popularity in Eastern Europe and South Asia but later declined with the rise of more democratic and capitalist systems. Marxism was founded on ideas in Marx and Engels' 1848 pamphlet The Communist Manifesto, which responded to growing worker exploitation caused by advancing technology and capitalism. Marxism aims to identify social injustices, government mistreatment, class interactions, and stereotypes by examining literature for instances of social inequality and abusive authority over the poorer classes.
