SYNOPSIS
EVE is a young girl raised by an abusive, extremist father and submissive, calculating mother. They are part
of a trailer community that travels the fringe of society with a cult like council controlling the families. Eve’s
mother sees no way out of her relationship and ends it by committing a murder suicide, leaving Eve to be
raised by the community. This experience desensitizes Eve to trauma and she no longer registers its existence.
She has become numb to her feelings.
18 years later, Eve has escaped the community to a big city and she uses the experiences of her past to
manipulate recruits to her own cult. Preying on abandoned youth drawn to the attention she gives them, Eve
has several young men convinced that she is the savior returned to earth and they are angels from heaven.
She says they were granted life on earth to experience its beauty and hardship before it is destroyed in the
apocalypse. Eve tells her recruits that angels take human life, and as angels they must be numb to human
suffering to carry out their task.
Eve and her followers leave the city to go on a trip to bring another ‘angel’ into the fold. The recruit will have
to carry out Eve’s instruction to kill to prove he is worthy of returning to heaven as an angel. They come across
a group of local campers in a national park and Eve lures them further into the forest describing a beautiful
paradise far off the beaten track. As they travel deeper into the wild, the local group suspects foul play when
one of the girls goes missing. In the meantime, a friend of the locals has been trying to catch up and re-unite
with his ex girlfriend among them. He is our hope as the campers get further and further from civilization.
When the locals finally confront Eve, all hell breaks loose as her angels try to put an end to the dissension.
ONE will keep you on the edge of your seat as we are lead into the ever-increasing suspenseful interactions of
the characters. We are drawn into their lives and pulled further and further from the structure and security of
society. Set in a natural paradise, this is a story about the ability to manipulate religion to immoral ends. As
the characters fight to salvage their existence from the chaos of misguided youth, we are swept into a circle
of madness that perpetuates itself and spins out of control. We are left praying for it to stop and the innocent
to be saved.
STYLE
