self esteem, improves cognitive function
and decision making.
3. Healthy Eating
“Discusses the factors influencing
personal health choices.” – PHS2.12
(Board of studies, 2007, p. 32)
The outcomes in health choices that
students are working towards are
identifying medical and non drugs,
food, cultural influences to health and
awareness of asthma and diabetes.
4. Decision Making and Problem

as a group member” – DMS2.2 (Board

Building these aspects in students
improves the ability to set goals,
gather accurate information,
consideration for other’s and
identifying reasons for reaching a
conclusion.
5. Being Active
Students should be engaging in 30
minutes of physical activity a day,
however the Australian Bureau of
Statistics (2014) has seen an increase
in screen based leisure and a
decrease in physical activity with age.
Its Important to encourage healthy
lifestyles to prevent poor health and
obesity.
