Narrative for PowerPoint Project

State Standards Addressed
2.8.K.A-Use concrete objects to demonstrate understanding of equal and
not equal.
Who is your Audience?
     A kindergarten class is my audience
Where and what do you teach?
     I teach a kindergarten class in a rural area. I cover all subject areas, but this lesson
     focuses on mathematics.
What will they have learned or should be able to do prior to this activity?
     Students will already know the number names and values for the numbers 1 through
     10 as well as the primary and secondary color names.
What will the students do and learn? (Smart Objectives)
     Students will be able to demonstrate understanding of equal and not equal. They will
     go through the PowerPoint by themselves while using paper manipulatives if needed
     to determine if certain groups of objects are equal or not equal.
What is the purpose of the PowerPoint?
     The PowerPoint is to be used as a closure activity to see what the students have
     learned and to help them if they did not understand the concept.
Which part of the lesson will the PowerPoint anchor?
     The PowerPoint will be used during the closure.
How will you know they meet your objectives?
     I will know the students met my objectives when they have completed the
     PowerPoint.
What Risks did you take in the creation of this project?
     Risks I took creating this PowerPoint were the complex timing of transitions and
     animations as well as the use of narration. I have never added narration to a
     PowerPoint before.
