I am allowed to use my final images because I
made the image myself, therefore I would not be
able to use anybody else's image apart from mine.
15. 1.6 File Formats
I will save a version of my magazine as a jpeg
Advantages Disadvantages
Doesn't take up a lot of
storage.
The more compression
you use, the more
smudges appear.
Its supported by every
digital camera.
If you modify your photos
in photo-editing software
with layers, saving your
files as JPEGs will flatten
the image so the layers
cannot be accessed
after saving.
Jpeg files can be printed
directly from a camera.
They lose quality when
they are saved
16. 1.6 File Formats
I will also save a version of my magazine as a pdf.
Advantages Disadvantages
A pdf is compact and
able to compress large
files.
A pdf is not editable.
They are easily and
quickly created.
Larger pdf files are slower
to download than HTML
A pdf is designed for
printable use.
PDF documents are
usually formatted to print
vertically when monitors
are generally horizontal.
17. 1.6 File Formats
I will also save a version of my magazine as a psd

for importing and
exporting data from
programs like adobe.
People can only open
them if they have
Photoshop.
It keeps layers so you can
make changes.
It’s a big file size.
PSD files open in adobe
Photoshop.
The file size is to big to be
portable.
