Dear Mr. John Rowly,
I am writing to ask if it is possible for me to have two weeks off – from
November 15th
to November 30th
. I am currently taking a fulltime course on
Banking Accounting, which started last month. I have five classes a week from
Monday to Friday in the morning. The course will last 4 months till the end of
December. However, a problem accidentally occurs: My mother is to have an
operation in hospital next week, and I am responsible for everything. It is,
therefore, impossible for me to attend the course.
The doctor says that it will take two weeks for my mother to take the operation
and recover. Thus, I myself have to come to the hospital to look after her since
my father passed away a long time ago, and my younger sister is too young to
take care of her. I really love studying this course, but I am afraid I have no
other option.

Dear Mr. Hung,
I am writing to ask if it is possible for me to take two weeks off which is from
September 11th
to 22nd
in the English-teachers’ Project 2020. I am currently
studying this project for 8 weeks, and I am finding it impossible to go to school
because I have just had an accident.
Two days ago, on my way home from the university, I had such a terrible
accident that my right leg was broken. I, therefore, have been in hospital so far.
I am finding it impossible to continue my study, for the doctor advises me to
stay in bed for at least two weeks. I enjoy attending classes, and I do not want
to take any day off, but I am afraid I have no other choice. I must be in hospital
until I get over.
I would like to know if it is possible for me to receive the lectures from the
professor of the course in advance. I apologize for any inconvenience that I will
cause. I am sure that I can focus better onmy study when I come back to school.
