1. Raising

The Journey to South Sudan
help the

AVAAR
orphanage
in Bor Town, South
Sudan
2. Reverend Arou spoke to us about the plight of
the children in Bor Town, South Sudan
3. Bor Town Sudan
Bor experienced decades of civil war
until the peace agreement of 2005.
Many people then returned to the
city in search of family.
Although many families were united,
some of the children had been
orphaned and had no extended
family that could be found.
8. Continuing Story of Development
When Joseph left in 2009 there were about
44 orphaned children who were being
assisted in a compound near the
Cathedral in Bor.
Some rooms were built so that they had
shelter for sleeping and a simple
classroom.
The school now has about 650 pupils, who
have lost either one or both parents.
9. We were amazed
to hear about the
hardships that his
family and friends
have suffered and
are now
overcoming
We now have a
better
understanding of the
valuable work that
he is doing
12. Ngong and Ateil are very proud
of the work that their Father does
13. Appeal to help the orphanage
A simple dormitory or classroom costs as
little as $5,000
$4,800 is the wage for a teacher or carer
for one year
$850 will provide food for one child for a
year.
$50 will provide one orphan with clothing
for a year.
14. We organised a crazy hair day at school and
began our fundraising for the Bor Town Orphanage
