- 1. A playground for EVERY child. TH E EQU IPMEN T is specifically for children ages 3 to 10, providing them with fun opportunities to develop their gross and fine motor, imaginative, cooperative, and problem- solving skills. TH E D ESIGN is for children of all abilities – not just those that are typically developing, and not just those that have disabilities. The play components provide a “just-right challenge” for everyone. TH E LAYOU T moves the playground adjacent to our DNR-certified School Forest and integrates state-of-the-art play equipment with elements of nature. Children are smarter, more cooperative, happier and healthier when they are allowed to learn and grow through unstructured outdoor play.

Our teachers have selected a circuit of active play components that work kids’ large muscles in their legs, arms and trunks, develop motor planning, control and coordination, and give opportunities for “make believe” play. AdventureScapes® Design 1 GROSS MOTOR & IMAGINATIVE PLAY This natural playground climber and outrigger net provide a challenging experience for even the most discerning climbers.

The Chimney™ / The Den™ Rocks GROSS MOTOR & IMAGINATIVE PLAY Kids can climb on the inside and outside of this rock and the den offers possibilities for dramatic play.
- 4. PlayBooster® Wood Plank Wiggle Ladder GROSS MOTOR & IMAGINATIVE PLAY A challenge for everyone! This ladder builds coordination, balance, motor planning and strength. Our teachers have selected a circuit of active play components that work kids’ large muscles in their legs, arms and trunks, develop motor planning, control and coordination, and give opportunities for “make believe” play.
- 5. Cooperative play allows children to interact with others, express their thoughts and try out new ideas. Our teachers have been intentional in choosing equipment that encourages growth in social skills, sharing and the importance of everyone contributing to a common goal. We-Saw ™ COOPERATIVE PLAY Kids of all abilities can participate, cooperating with each other and learning how to work as a team!
- 6. PlayBooster® Star Seeker Climber COOPERATIVE PLAY Imaginations will be running wild as problem- solving and motor planning skills get stronger. Cooperative play allows children to interact with others, express their thoughts and try out new ideas. Our teachers have been intentional in choosing equipment that encourages growth in social skills, sharing and the importance of everyone contributing to a common goal.

In our one-of-a-kind preschool playscape, children will benefit from open-ended, creative, outdoor play in nature. Live Willow House NATURE-BASED PLAY The perfect place for imaginative or dramatic play, this live willow house will be built by volunteers this fall – a unique feature of our playground!

Log Balance Beam NATURE-BASED PLAY Everyone likes choices in how to get from one place to another, and this balance beam offers just that!

Playgrounds should include features that are just plain fun for kids, and that’s what our teachers achieved in selecting these active play components.
