Daina Middleton will talk about her book, Marketing in the Participation Age, which discusses how in order for companies to truly connect with customers, they must encourage participation in the entire customer experience – an idea that is at the core of most recent conversations about customer experience. She will also talk about her keynote at The Social Shake-Up on the afternoon of June 9.

“Twitter has hinted frequently in recent quarters at its desire to
convey and capitalize on its audience beyond its 284 million active
registered users. On Wednesday it made that goal more explicit.
"We want Twitter to be nothing less than the very best way to keep
up with your world," CEO Dick Costolo said at the start of the event.
‘We have a goal to build the largest daily audience in the world.’”

What last year’s attendees had to say:
“Social Shake Up is one of my ‘can't miss’ events of the year. I find that it pulls top-level
marketing and sales professionals that are actively sharing best practices, thought
leadership and challenges. I always leave with actionable ideas to improve our company.” –
Richard Brasser, CEO, rFactr
“The Social Shake-Up was one of the lowest-hype, highest-value social events I have
attended. Unlike other social media events, attendees at the Social Shake -Up were having
frank discussions about social media's limits and struggles, and the dialog was about where
social fits and how it is changing business rather than just being about status updates and
marketing programs. I was very glad I attended.” -- Augie Ray, Director - Global Voice of
Customer Strategy, Fortune 100 Financial Services Company
