1. My CTE Experience
I enroll in University of Central Florida's Career and Technical Education (CTE) Career College
to acquire new skills and to enhance my knowledge as a CTE teacher. Furthermore, my CTE
teacher's certification renewal process requires me to complete specific courses in CTE education.
The availability of CTE online programs made it easier and more convenient for me as a working
full–time teacher to the required courses within a specified time. I was concerned about the cost of
returning to college, the time commitment involved, and the challenges of attending classes with
such a heavy workload. I currently teach eight (8) classes, have 6 preps, and have no planning period.
I researched several universities and colleges that offered the required CTE courses I am required
to complete. After my research, I inquired information from Dr. Julie Golden. I received a prompt
response and the level of professionalism and attention to my email made me decide to invest my
education with UCF. Dr. Golden enrolled me in the summer class, but I still had fear and concern,
only to now realize that my fear and concern were unfounded. I was able to fairly maneuver through

I struggled and incorrectly wrote citations for my research. I quickly learned the proper format for
APA style, but I am still slowly figuring out how to proper complete assignment in this form. The
feedback I've received during the discussions and email communications have been valuable. When
I was enrolled in the course, I didn't receive communication and notification about the tuition due
date and as a result, I was assessed a $100.00 late penalty. Since this is my first time taking online
courses – a webinar session could address a lot of questions and concerns potential new students
may have. I am appealing the $100.00 late
