Motivation behind this project • 7th sustainable development goal, according to the United Nations states the necessity for Affordable and Clean energy. • Around 75 percent of all enrolled students in India are from a rural background. And the dropouts in Rural regions are much higher compared to urban or sub urban areas. • Lack of regular electricity is one of the few reasons for this trend in rural regions. - 3. General issues with solar lamps in rural areas (from past projects) Buy and supply is the usual method practiced: Leads to higher costs Lack of technical support: Leads to premature failures Poor availability : Leads to lack of continuity of the lamp’s usage.
