QUICK QUIZ?
Team Member
• To be done in a consult room not in operatory.
• Utilize a Consultation Kit to show patients and parents
how strong the muscles are, examples of Myobrace
appliances, the mirror to show the patient their own
dysfunction and educational CD’s.
• When showing images to parents, explain how these
habits can contribute to the health of the child.
• Keep it short (approximately 10-15 minutes) and simple.
You are educating children and their parents.
MYOBRACE FIRST CONSULTATION:
• At the first consultation the team member conducting the consultation
begins filling out the MOE form while the patient watches the
Introductory video.
• Identifying and explaining bad oral habits and symptoms to parents might
seem unclear at first.
• Parents are not expecting you to tell them their child is suffering from
health issues in addition to malocclusion, especially since they think it is
unrelated to teeth (explain how malocclusion provides insight into health
issues) .
• Give parents a few minutes to gather their thoughts.
• When staff members present an effective first consultation, using
professionalism, facts, and a clear understanding of the Myobrace
philosophy, parents will be excited and more accepting to treatment.
• As a health care professional, it is your responsibility to educate parents
on the seriousness of these habits.
• If these habits are not corrected, children will develop breathing
problems, crowded teeth, and under developed jaws that can continue
into their adulthood and cause more serious side effects.
TIPS FOR SUCCESS IN DELIVERING A FIRST CONSULTATION:
• Explain to parents that for the Doctor to formulate a proper diagnosis and
treatment plan we must take diagnostic records.
• Records include molds of the teeth, photos of the face and teeth and an x-ray
(Panorex or CBCT).
WHAT YOU WILL NEED FOR RECORDS:
PHOTOS:
• Frontal picture with lips sealed
• Upper occlusal.
• Lower occlusal.
• Side profile .
• Frontal picture with occlusal contact
• Photos should always be taken in front of a grid.
NOTE:
• Records are important to track your patient’s success; consistent photos are
crucial.
• Grid is highly recommended to clearly see progression of patient facial
development.
• We recommend taking diagnostic photos every three months and whenever you
change an appliance, to record the patients progress.
• Compliance is KEY to success with the Myobrace System.
TRANSITIONING TO RECORDS
• Explain to parents that for the Doctor to formulate a proper

• Treatment time can be unpredictable.
• Treatment time is dependent on compliance and biological adaptability to
overcome their poor habits.

Myobrace on without any assistance and have them wait for 15min so they can
