2. This is a fundamental term for our whole approach to Film Studies. ‘Reading’ immediately suggests a depth of investigation and an intensity of focus that watching films does not convey. What do you think film language is ?

In groups of three 1)What settings were used during the opening sequence before the credits? 2)Why had they been chosen? 3)As a group of settings were they appropriate to the film and if so in what ways? Tip! Begin by describing the settings employed in as much detail as possible. The descriptions you arrive at should give you clues as to how you could see these settings as appropriate to the film as a whole and perhaps especially to the character of Bond as portrayed in this movie.
