2. “ How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?”
3. Youtube Youtube allows me to stream endless amounts of videos, and in particular, music videos by established musicians. This website being so easily accessible, I used it to my advantage so as to research these music videos and analyse them from several critical perspectives- therefore giving me the ability to be critical of other’s work as well as my own, which is important in the evaluation stages, as I can review my decisions and the feedback I’ve obtained over the duration of the course and use them for a positive, constructive purpose, thus building my resiliance.
4. 10 th Concession’s Website It was important that I referred to 10 th Concession’s website frequently so as to gain a firm understanding of the genre presented as a framework for my video. From this website I researched the band and their particular style so as to refer it back to the presentation of my performer in my final music video, informing my decisions and my evaluation.
5. Blogger Blogger has become an effective tool of which I can continuously monitor my progress as well as reflect upon previous research done that has influenced the work I create. This reference is excellent as I can remind myself of my initial goals and stick to them, so that, for example, the research and planning I did on genre, is fresh in my mind as I re-construct the genre from scratch through my music video. As well as this, I can constantly refer back to it when reviewing my work in regards to my evaluation when I have to mention research and planning- which is all stored on the earlier posts in my blog.
6. Adobe Photoshop Photoshop was an essential DTP software programme that gave me the opportunity to create professional-looking ancillary tasks that rounded-off the whole of my production. Using tools such as drop glow alongside hue and saturation, I could make an ordinary photograph of a tree that I took (Left) turn white, and give it an impressionable glow, making the image stand out. I also used this programme in my foundation production, and so, as my skills have progressed, I have gained an intuitive knowledge as to what my ancillary tasks could look like, as I was familiar with the limitless amount of tools I could use to convey my creativity.
7. Adobe Premiere Pro And finally, Adobe Premiere Pro has been the most effective software I have used as without it, I wouldn’t have been able to create my video! I gained my initial knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro with the creation of my Vox Pops, which, in comparison, is incredibly simplistic. With this program, there was no research involved, and I discovered the only way to become an effective worker with the program is to practice editing and testing out many effects so as to visualise what works and what doesn’t. I used the razor tool most as it allowed me to effectively edit my footage in a similar fashion to the editing seen in real music videos.
