The document provides guidance on implementing God's plan by discussing three key points:
1) It discusses Paul's task of preaching and writing about the inexhaustible riches and generosity of Christ to bring God's secret plan out in the open.
2) It outlines God's strategy of love, giving, making, cleansing, presenting, and becoming one according to Ephesians 5:22-33.
3) It advises the reader to act on what they hear from the word and not just let it go in one ear and out the other, likening acting to catching a glimpse of God's revealed counsel and sticking with it to become a person of action.
4. And so here I am, preaching and writing about things
that are way over my head, the inexhaustible riches
And generosity of Christ. My task is to bring out
in the open and make plain what God, who created
all this in the first place, has been doing in secret
and behind the scenes all along. Through followers of
Jesus like yourselves gathered in churches,
this extraordinary plan of God is becoming
known and talked about even among the angels!
Ephesians 3:10
8. James 1:22-25
Don't fool yourself into thinking that you are
a listener when you are anything but, letting
the Word go in one ear and out the other.
Act on what you hear! Those who hear and
don't act are like those who glance in the
mirror, walk away, and two minutes later
have no idea who they are, what they look
like.
9. James 1:22-25
But whoever catches a glimpse of the
revealed counsel of God—the free life!—
even out of the corner of his eye, and sticks
with it, is no distracted scatter brain but a
man or woman of action. That person will
find delight and affirmation in the action.
