3. EPHESIANS 2:9 (NIV)
For it is by grace you have been saved,
through faith—and this is not from
yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by
works, so that no one can boast.
4. EPHESIANS 2:9 (NLT)
God saved you by his grace when you
believed. And you can’t take credit for
this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is
not a reward for the good things we
have done, so none of us can boast
about it.
5. EPHESIANS 2:9 (AMP)
For it is by GRACE (God’s remarkable
compassion and favor drawing you to
Christ) that you have been SAVED
(actually delivered from judgment and
given eternal life) through FAITH. And
this [salvation] is NOT OF
YOURSELVES (not through your own
effort), but it is the (undeserved, gracious)
GIFT OF GOD; not as a result of (your)
works (nor your attempts to keep the Law),
so that no one will [be able to] boast or
take credit in any way (for his salvation).
6. WHAT HAVE WE BEEN
SAVED FROM?
EPHESIANS 2:1-3
Once you were dead because of your
disobedience and your many sins. You
used to live in sin, just like the rest of the
world, obeying the devil—the commander
of the powers in the unseen world. He is
the spirit at work in the hearts of those
who refuse to obey God. All of us used to
live that way, following the passionate
desires and inclinations of our sinful
nature. By our very nature we were subject
to God’s anger, just like everyone else.
7. THE FALL OF MAN
PSALM 51: 5
For I was born a sinner--yes, from
the moment my mother conceived
me.
8. WHAT HAVE WE BEEN
SAVED FROM?
ROMANS 8: 1
So now there is no condemnation for
those who belong to Christ Jesus.
(NLT)
Therefore there is now no
condemnation (no guilty verdict, no
punishment) for those who are in
Christ Jesus (who believe in Him as
personal Lord and Saviour). (AMP)

11. SAVED BY GRACE
LUKE 23: 39-43
One of the criminals hanging beside him scoffed, “So
you’re the Messiah, are you? Prove it by saving
yourself—and us, too, while you’re at it!”
40 But the other criminal protested, “Don’t you fear God
even when you have been sentenced to die? 41 We
deserve to die for our crimes, but this man hasn’t
done anything wrong.” 42 Then he said, “Jesus,
remember me when you come into your Kingdom.”
43 And Jesus replied, “I assure you, today you will be
with me in paradise.”
12. SAVED BY GRACE
LUKE 18: 10-14
10 “Two men went to the Temple to pray. One was a
Pharisee, and the other was a despised tax
collector. 11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed
this prayer: ‘I thank you, God, that I am not like other
people—cheaters, sinners, adulterers. I’m certainly not
like that tax collector! 12 I fast twice a week, and I give
you a tenth of my income.’
13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance and dared
not even lift his eyes to heaven as he prayed. Instead,
he beat his chest in sorrow, saying, ‘O God, be
merciful to me, for I am a sinner.’ 14 I tell you, this
sinner, not the Pharisee, returned home justified
before God. For those who exalt themselves will be
humbled, and those who humble themselves will be
exalted.”
14. EPHESIANS 2:9 (AMP)

We have been delivered from Judgement and instead we have been given eternal life .
Verse
We were dead and subject to the anger of God before salvation but Jesus paid the ultimate penalty of our sin. We were born into sin and it is only by salvation we have been saved from condemnation.
First, as a result of Adam's sin we all enter the world with a fallen nature. This is original sin--the sinful tendencies, desires, and dispositions in our hearts with which we are all born.
No one teaches a child to fake cry when they want attention or to lie when asked if they broke their toy.
In the OT they used animal sacrifices to cleanse them of sin. (blood shed was necessary)
There is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus.
Salvation gives us the opportunity to have a relationship and once we have been saved we have access to the Holy Spirit.
When we are truly saved we are no longer condemned to hell but we have everlasting life.
Free- without cost or payment
Unmerited – we cant earn it and we don’t deserve it
Grace is where God gives us the opposite of what we deserved.
One thing we must understand is that it is not grace because we are a good person or because God already foresaw we would give our lives.
He does it just because.
There are two stories in the
Grace is described as a gift of God that we have chosen to receive. Grace isn’t fair and neither is God.

We must never think we are saved by actions.
Actions do not qualify and neither do they disqualify us. If God was fair we would all be dead!
These stories are perfect examples of the power of grace over works
As people a lot of the time we resist grace because it robs us of our pride. We can no longer take the glory or the credit because everything has to be given to God.
We cannot come into Christ without knowledge of who he is. Without the knowledge of what Jesus did for us on the cross, without the knowledge that we are sinners and that the blood of Jesus has washed away our sins. We cannot come into him
Faith is not a blind leap in the dark
To believe something is true. It is possible to know something without believing its true.
To know all the historical facts about Jesus Christ, to possess thorough knowledge of the facts about salvation, will do our children no good if they do not believe those facts to be true.
You can say Jesus died for our sins
I believe that Jesus dies for my sins
This is not enough
We must know trust in this knowledge. To trust in the knowledge means to act on it and to live a life based on what you believe.
We must commit ourselves to this
You can say I believe that Ashleigh will keep my money safe but then it comes to keeping it with them and you don’t do it.
