4. I come before singular nouns
beginning with
consonant sounds.

5. 1. Once upon a time, there was a small boy.
2. Hari saw a monster crab.
3. A ginger cake.
4. A bar of chocolate.
5. They crowded into a train.

6. Just like ‘a’, I also come before nouns,
but remember
I am used only before nouns
beginning with sounds a, e, i, o, u.

7. 1. An isolated sandy corner.
2. An egg.
3. An eight-lettered word.

8. I come before singular nouns.
I am used
when people speak
of
a person, a place or a thing
already mentioned;
or things or persons in a situation.

9. 1. Hari put out his hand to shake the crab’s claws.
2. On that day, the sun shone bright.
3. The lobster took his hand.
4. All the children jumped out with a shout of joy.
