Question 4
Whilst producing my media texts I used
 many different forms of technologies.
An example of this is the Adobe Premier
Pro which I used to create the radio
trailer and 5 minute extract from the
 documentary. This particular piece of
software allowed me to edit and create
  professional looking media texts that
follow the codes and conventions of a
    documentary and a radio trailer.
Although I did have previous experience
with this software I believe that I really
gained a thorough understanding of how
to use it quickly and efficiently whilst
       producing my radio trailer and
documentary. Also it was extremely easy to
transfer clips from my documentary to the
radio trailer which made producing the
        radio trailer straightforward.
Adobe Photoshop was used to create the
print advert, which I had also had experience
with so I was able to create a professional
looking print advert very quickly as I had
taken the picture of the Liverpool skyline and
the welcome to Liverpool sign which I
   thought worked very effectively together
and these coupled with the slogan really
conveyed the subject matter which in turn
would of engaged and influenced the
   audience into watching the documentary
which is the purpose of the print advert.
The equipment that we used a group included
several video cameras, a tripod, a still SLR camera
and a microphone. However we did face several
problems with the microphone as during the
interview with the leader of Liverpool city council
the microphone stopped working so we had to re
film the interview although this did cut time a bit
short. Furthermore, problems with sound where also
evident in many of our voxpops as they were done in
Liverpool city centre which is extremely noisy and
busy, because of this we were unable to use them.
We had several problems with shaky
camera movement at first particularly
 when filming cutaways despite using
  the tripod however we recorded
them all several time until we
   thought we had a professional
            looking shot.
The still camera was used to not
only take photos of Liverpool for
the print advert but also of photos
of us filming and editing as
      evidence for our blogs.
 Furthermore, I used the schools
  recording studio to record the
    voiceover and radio trailer.
Whilst planning our documentary we needed to gain a lot of
information of what we could include and look into several
topics, we also needed to get contact details for our potential
interviewees. Internet explorer allowed me to do all of these as
I could use Google to find out information and hotmail to
contact the interviewees and also get permission to use songs in
the documentary. Also YouTube was used to get archive
material such as the ‘how to make scouse’ interview and Harry
Enfield sketch which we unfortunately had to remove as the
quality was not very good. Also to gain audience feedback
Facebook was used so that i could show people my finished
media products and ask their opinions on them to help with my
evaluation. Finally, I also used BlogSpot to present my work to
                            the examiner.
I have used PowerPoint, Microsoft word,
  prezi, slideshare, windows movie maker
and premier pro to present work
creatively on my blog. This work
           includes analyse of other
  documentaries, codes and conventions,
      planning, evaluation and more.
In conclusion I was able to create
    a professional documentary,
   print advert and radio trailer
with the use of different forms
of technology which were at my
              disposal.
