2. The Church a House of Prayer
Mark 11:17; 1 Tim. 3:15
• For what are we known?
• Luke 18:1 Jesus taught, We ought
always to pray and not to faint…
• The foundation of prayer in the book of
Acts 1:14; 24; 2:42
– Plant those seeds of change thru
praying… 1 Corinthians 3:6
• The plant, water and grow principle.
Planting + Watering = Results James 4:2

3. Avoid the Dead Zones…
1 Peter 3:12
• Sin hinders prayer… Jn. 9:31 “no bars”
– Unforgiveness Mt. 6:14-15
– Asking selfishly James 4:3
– Improper life with your spouse 1 Pet.3:7
– Asking contrary to God’s will is wrong…
1 Jn. 5:14; Luke 9:54-56

4. Calling On God…
• Prayer reaches God… 1 Peter 3:12
– We must dial the right number J-E-S-U-S
1 Tim. 2:5; Hebrews 4:14-16
– We must be faithful in our payments by living
righteous lives. Acts 10:34-35; 1 Jn. 3:22
• Always repenting of our sin so as to be right
in His sight. Ac. 8:22; 2 Chron. 7:14
– Prayer phone line is a 2 way communication:
• God talks to us through Bible Study
Hebrews 1:1-2; Jn. 14:26; 16:13
• We speak to God in Prayer. Mt. 6:9ff

5. Prayer Touches Others, etc.
James 5:16
• Can bring spiritual, physical and emotional
healing. James 5:13-16; Phil. 4:6-7
• Changes the weather… James 5:17-18
• Help governments, people in authority…
1 Timothy 2:1-2
• Pray for all people… family,
neighbors, community, state,
country, Christians Eph. 6:18

6. Touching The Future…
• You are to leave the influential example
of prayer everywhere. 1 Timothy 2:8
• Are you one whose life is filled with
Prayer?
– If not, Why not? 1 Thes. 5:15-18
• Prayer builds up our relationship with
God! James 4:7-10
“Prayer is an ongoing and growing
love relationship with God… to be effective
Pray-ers we need to be effective lovers.”

7. Power In Prayer!
• Through prayer to God we can help
bring change in the world, in the lives
of others Hebrews 13:18-19 and also
in our own lives.
• Let us love God and keep His
commands and truly touch tomorrow
today thru prayer! Col. 4:2
