2. We’re Part of the Family…
WHOSE BEEN BORN AGAIN
■ We have the same spiritual Father (Eph. 4:6).
– We were brought forth by the same seed (Jm. 1:18).
– The seed is the word of God (Luke 8:11).
■ Birth is brought forth by the planting of the seed in
our hearts (1 Pet. 1:22-25).
– We were born of water having been convicted by the
Spirit (John 3:3-5; 1 Cor. 12:13; Rom. 6:3-6).
3. We’re Part of the Family…
WHOSE LOVE KNOWS NO END
■ This is so because the love of our Father has no end
(John 3:16; Rom. 5:8).
■ In the same way Jesus loved us without end
(Heb. 2:9; John 8:51-52).
■ At times children of God go astray, but God, in His
endless love, give us a path of return.
– For example, consider Peter (Matt. 26:31-35; Luke
22:54-62; John 21:15-17).
4. We’re Part of the Family…
WHOSE LOVE KNOWS NO END
■ In the same way, our love must have no end
(John 13:34-35).
– Jesus not only taught it, but gave the example of
what it truly is (John 15:12-13).
– We wear the badge of discipleship when we love one
another (1 John 3:16).
– When we lay down our lives for one another our love
truly has no end.
5. We’re Part of the Family…
WHOSE LOVE KNOWS NO END
■ Sadly, there are some who quit serving the Lord
because their love comes to an end (Rev. 2:2-5).
– This happens when our priorities get out of order
(Matt. 6:33).
– Keeping His commandments are not burdensome
when we love the Lord (1 John 5:3).
– To gain the crown of life we must truly love the Lord
without end (Rev. 2:10).
6. We’re Part of the Family…
WHO SHARE GREIF AND RELIEF
■ When a brother or sister meets sorrow we all feel it.
– When one is suffering we all suffer (Rom 12:15).
– We have equal care for one another without
prejudice or partiality (1Cor. 12:25).
■ We also feel relief when a brother or sister passes
through the valley (Psalm 23:4).
– Relief is felt in the words of the apostles (2
Tim. 4:6-8; Phil. 1:21; Rev. 14:13).
7. We’re Part of the Family…
WHO WILL ALL MEET AGAIN
■ One day there is going to be a great reunion
(1Thess. 4:17-18).
■ John gives us that same picture (Rev. 21:3).
■ The key word that characterizes God’s family is
“together.”
– God’s family is one that is together (Acts 2:44;
4:32).
8. We’re Part of the Family…
WHO WILL ALL MEET AGAIN
■ The Bible emphasizes family “togetherness.”
– We are not to forsake our assembling together (Heb.
10:25).
– We are to strive together (Phil. 1:27).
– We are to be perfectly joined together (1 Cor. 1:10).
– We are to be workers together (2 Cor. 6:1).
– We are to be fitted and held together (Eph. 4:16).
■ One day we’ll be together forever (1Thess. 5:10).
