    • Crete
      By Carlos Hervás, 1ºBachillerato EFL
    • Day 1
      Thursday, 20th.
      We left London at 6:00 a.m. and we arrived in Crete at midnight, more or less.
      On the first day in Crete we only rested, we saw the hotel, we went to the beach…
    • We had dinner in the hotel and later, the teachers, Montse and Rosa, came to a pub with us.
    • Friday, 21st.
      We visited Recimno, we saw the monuments and the town.The town´s historical part was very beautiful but the new part was ugly.
      We ate in Recimno and we tasted the typical Greek food: mousaka, gyros, feta cheese…
      In the afternoon, we
      went to the beach and
      we had dinner near the
      Day 2
    • The most important thing in Recimno is the castle, which we visited, and the old city.
      This part of Recimno was attacked by the Nazis, so it is destroyed.
    • Saturday, 22nd.
      This day was the most important day in Crete, we visited Samaria´s Gorge.
      Day 3
    • Samaria´s Gorge is a descent of sixteen kilometers across a gorge. It´s very steep, difficult and dangerous because there are a lot of rocks and stones.
      We had some difficulties to do it, because the weather was horrible and many people wore t-shirts and shorts…
      It was raining all the way, but finally we managed to walk all the way.
      When we finished we arrived at a small town and some of us went to the beach.
    • We had to travel by boat to return to the hotel.
      Later, we arrived at the hotel and we slept all the night.
    • Day 4
      Sunday, 23rd.
      This day was to rest. After Samaria everyone was tired and we stayed in the hotel.
      Some people went to the beach, swam, played cards… others went to the town, bought presents…
      That night we went to a
      disco and later we went to
      the hotel.
    • Monday, 24th.
      We went to Spinalonga. This is an old place where the lepers used to stay. It has incredible beaches and it is very beautiful.
      Spinalonga is an island and
      we arrived by boat.
      Day 5
    • First, we saw the old city where the lepers had been and then we went to a town, we ate and we went to the beach.
      The old city was beautiful and the beaches were very impressive.
    • Tuesday, 25th.
      We went to Heraklion and Knossos.
      First we saw the Knossos´s palace, it´s beautiful and very old. The palace has a lot of ruins.
      This place is very important for the mythology and it has many legends.
      Day 6
    • Then, we saw Heraklion, the historical part is beautiful but the new part isn´t. In fact, I think it is very ugly .
      In Heraklion we saw a museum and later we came back to the hotel. We went to the pool and we had dinner in Recimno.
    • Wednesday, 26th.
      This was the last day in Crete, it was a free day.
      We went to the beach and we were in it all day.
      Later we went to Recimno and had
      dinner at a restaurant near
      the port, we ate prawns,
      Day 7
    • We had a party and we enjoyed the last day together and with Montse and Rosa.
      Finally, we went to bed and we thought of the good holidays and of the good days in Crete.
    • Day 8
      Thursday, 27th.
      We woke up very early, we packed our cases and we went to the airport.
      At 12:00 a.mm more or less we caught the plane and we came back to London.
      The travel to Crete was great, everybody enjoyed it and everybody has a good memory of Crete.
