  2. 2. About the islands <br />Trinidad and Tobago is an archipelagic republic <br />It is located in the southern Caribbean.<br />It was originally a Spanish colony (1492-1802)<br />The country covers an area of 5,128 square kilometres<br />It is best known for its carnival<br />

Celebrations and traditions<br />The most important celebration of Trinidad and Tobago is carnival:<br />It is celebrated in Savannah park.<br />The Carnival goes on for 3 days straight, everyone dresses up, and even puts mud on their face.<br />They spend 2 weeks before celebrating non stop.<br />It is full of competitions, music, food…<br />As soon as the carnival finishes they start making costumes for next year!<br />Trinidad and Tobago is extremely multicultural , therefore there are many people from all around the world.<br />

These islands also have more different kinds of bats than any other place in the world </li></ul>Trinidad and Tobago has a very warm climate <br />Its minimum temperature is 26 degrees Celsius and its maximum is 34 degrees <br />Trinidad and Tobago have two seasons: summer and winter. The seasons differ in their rainfall, with winter wetter and slightly cooler.<br />

  11. 11. Beaches <br />Trinidad and Tobago is well known for its beaches, that have turquoise waters and soft sand.<br />These beaches are also home to leather back turtles and many different types of fishes.<br />There is a lot of vegetation surrounding the beaches, such as coconut trees.<br />

Cuisine<br />The Cuisine of Trinidad and Tobago is indicative of the blends of Indian, Amerindian, European, African, Creole, Chinese and Lebanese influences.<br />Popular Caribbean meals and desserts:<br />Dumplings:Theyare cooked balls of dough.<br />Chicken Curry: a typical curry consists of chicken in an onion, tomato, and yogurt-based sauce, flavoured with ginger, garlic, chillies and cumin, cinnamon and cardamom <br />Roti: is bread made from stone-ground wholemeal flour<br />Dalpuri: variation of roti. <br />(There is also a lot of fish cooked in different ways)<br />
