 Write down everything that comes to your
mind
 Many notes = many potential options

 Organize your notes!
 Cluster related topics
 Add transition words to create a “flow”
 Audience -> following along one argument to
another

5. 3. Saying thoughts out loud
 Not ideal = simply organize thoughts on
paper
 Ideal = actually speaking the thoughts
 Think out loud!

mirror
 Speech written down -> practice in front of
mirror many times
 Becoming familiar with presentation
 Less nervousness
 Avoid looking at note cards too frequently

 Speak slowly and clearly
 Steady pace/speed
 Less hesitation sounds -> more professional
