2. George Bernard
He was born in Dublin on the 26 of July of 1856 and he died the 2 of november of
1950.He was an Irish playwright, critic, polemicist and political activist. He wrote
more than sixty plays, including major works such as Man and Superman (1902),
Pygmalion (1912) and Saint Joan (1923). Shaw died very old, at the age of 94 from
kidney failure formed by injuries caused by falling while he was pruning a tree.
3. Shaw became the leading dramatist of his generation, and he was awarded the nobel
prize in Literature in 1925 and in 1938 he shared the Oscar for the best screenplay
adapted by the film version of Pygmalion, becoming the first person to receive the
Nobel Prize and an Oscar Award.
