2. We asked our audience a variety of questions so we could get a wide range of
feedback. We found out that..
• They liked our use of characters, they said that they looked
scary and fit well within the trailer.
• They liked the sound effects used, for example the BANGS
and HEARTBEAT as they thought it added an eerie effect to
it.
• They liked how we presented our reaction shots as it
emphasized the situation that was occurring in the trailer.
• They thought that our main trailer and ancillary texts
created synergy because of the font, font colour scheme
and the photos were consistent.
• They liked our idea of the line of old photos of our main
character at the start and the end of the trailer.
3. However, we also found out that..
• They thought the music we used didn’t go with our
trailer 100% and that we should have used a more
conventional song. They were expecting the music to
be more eerie and creepy so it would promote the
fact that it is a horror film.
• They also thought we should have used a wider
variety of photos for our magazine front cover and
poster designs.
4. To learn from this..
• If we were to improve our trailer any more or
if we were to make a full trailer we would find
a better sound track to use to promote the
fact it is a horror film but also one that goes
with the trailer better. We would also take a
wider variety of photos for our ancillary texts
so they are slightly different but they all still
link so there still would be synergy.
