Beyond my formal education, I am an avid football fan with extensive knowledge of the sport. I have followed Red Bull's ownership and success in football clubs around the world. I would welcome the chance to apply my passion and understanding of the sport to help promote Red Bull's brands and teams.

Dear Mr K… and Mr ….
Cover letter COMMERCIAL MANAGEMENT ASSITANT TRAINEE
I saw your application for a commercial management assistant trainee for Red Bull London in
Metropolia’s ‘Tuubi’ and it immediately caught my interest. My passion and knowledge of sports
make this a perfect placement opportunity and I would hereby like to be considered for this
position.
Red Bull’s entry in football has been a mighty impressing achievement. The recent signing of
French international Thierry Henry to New York Red Bull truly caught the eye of the world, and
being a part of your success would be a fantastic opening. By having a long and varied
involvement from the field of sport, knowledge of social media, and experience in business related
issues from my education, I strongly feel that I can complement your line-up.
A football team relies heavily on outside backing for their performance on the pitch, so it is
essential having a former player working with the team which understands the complex reality of a
football team.
In my journalist internship I organized a new way of reaching out to the targeted reader by using a
social media platform gaining a significant larger base of weekly readers for my employer.
Moreover I have spent many hours researching the language of the net, especially amongst the
youth, and I have a good insight into the requirement required to meet their needs.
I currently study at Metropolia Business School where I have gained top marks, acquired vital
organising skills, adapted myself to various forms of communication, attained marketing
knowledge, as well as acquainted myself with various other forms of the business life.
Together I believe that we will create genuine success for the football team as well as generating the
needed PR for Red Bull to make the team commercially viable. I am available for a ten months
placement period, starting from July next year, and the issue of flexible working hours will not be
any problem. In such a stimulating position one should expect nothing less. I hope to hear from you
soon and to be given the opportunity to present myself at an interview
Yours sincerely
Antero Virtanen

Dear Antero
Congratulations, you have been chosen to be Red Bull London's new trainee for Commercial Manager

We made our decision based on your interest which we think shines through your CV and Cover Letter, also
by their quality, but also because of your football background and relevant work experience...and a successful
